We ended our year as we normally do by inviting our lovely wives to our luncheon. We were entertained by The Bullard Project Talent Singers and had beautiful table settings.
One of the major projects for 2017 was the completion of the SIR #169 Membership Booklet. This took several months and a lot of dedicated work. I want to thank the team that was in charge of this project. After it’s completion the club is down to 105 active members. One of mine and our goals needs to be to invite guests to our luncheon and invite them to join as new members.
I would be remiss if I didn’t thank all of the new members of our board for stepping up to make our club what it is. I also want to thank Mike Barabe for the great job he did as Big Sir for 2017.
Great job Mike!!
I also want to thank all of you for showing interest in the activities that our SIR club has to offer, particularly our monthly luncheon with interesting speakers, wonderful golf, and couples night out. Our Little Sir, Ernie Sopp, passed out a survey at our November meeting of activities our club might be interested in offering. We will be discussing this survey at future meetings.
In November David Rose from the Department of Veterans Affairs spoke to us about the changes that have taken place in that organization recently. As usual, for December our wives are invited to share lunch with us and enjoy the Bullard Project Talent program. I believe the wives also enjoy our stirring rendition of the SIR “Cocka-doodle-do” I hope you all can make it.
