I've accomplished both this year and in my first term. As an example, 4 years ago I changed our Thanksgiving luncheon into a Veterans luncheon. I had a ROTC unit do the presentation of the flag and a female Navy officer that was at the Pentagon on 9/11 as our speaker. This year may have even been
better in some ways. This year I also came up with the idea of recognizing a member of the month and that has gone over very well. Jackie has promised to keep the award going next year, which I like. My advice to him is to keep an eye on spending and try to improve or add 1 or 2 things if you
can. Just keep it simple and keep things going. I encourage the people that can to participate. Like I have written in this article before, it's your club, it will succeed or fail because of you. 4 years ago we had 140 members, now we only have 89. My Christmas wish is to see our membership increase next year even if by just 1 member. I hope we have a great turn out at our last luncheon of the year and after that, I return to the peanut gallery!
