Welcome everyone to May, the weather is perfect for golf and almost anything outside. It
is also the month of our Mother’s Day luncheon. So, don’t forget to let your caller know
about your favorite gal joining you for lunch. Also, our speaker for the month is Lisa
Smittcamp. She is one of our favorites.
There seems to be a question of the use of our member’s directory. I brought this up at
the last BEC meeting and after the discussion we voted to enact SIR Bylaw Article 7, Rule
32-4 and 32 ECC, which states “a membership list , or any part thereof, may not be used
for any commercial purpose.” It further states that a membership list may not be sold to
or purchased by any person.
This is what separates us from other men’s clubs like Rotary or Lions. In those organizations, it is expected that their membership list will be used for business contacts. Sirs is a
men’s social club and not one where the membership list can be used for drumming up
business via mass e-mails. Thanks for your cooperation.
