Dan Pessano of Good Company Players put on an excellent show for our luncheon.  He was very glad to see so many familiar faces, talking with old friends and meeting new ones.  He told me that it was his pleasure to come and share with us the upcoming productions and some of his life experiences.  The feedback from his presentation was very positive, and we all learned some new and interesting aspects of Dan's production companies and future plays.
Our speaker for the August 9th luncheon is someone many of us are familiar with to some degree.  She is our current Fresno County Sheriff, Margaret Mims.  She came up through the ranks and was the first female deputy sheriff to attain the rank of Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Sheriff and be elected to the office of Sheriff in the history of the Fresno County Sheriff's Office which was established in 1856.  She is very interested in speaking to our SIRS members, and looking forward to answering questions you may have.
It was a pleasure to have Ryan Jacobson as our speaker in June.  His information on the Fresno County Farm Bureau was very interesting and detailed with considerable agricultural information.  Ryan was very pleased to see two of our SIR members, who came up after his talk.  Ray Springer, who was a coach for Ryan's Dad, and the high school principal for Ryan and his Dad at Washington Union in Easton.  The other person Ryan was glad to see was Dean Philpott, whom he recognized from the Farm Bureau meetings.  I sent Ryan a thank you letter on behalf of our SIR members.  He responded that he had a great Time!
Dan Pessano will be the speaker for our July 12th luncheon.  Dan is and actor, and one of the founders of the Good Company Players in 1973.  In 1978 this evolved into Roger Rocka's Dinner Theater, and in 1982 the 2nd Space Theater.  Dan is a very interesting speaker and will be coming to tell us of the upcoming productions he has planned, so come join us at the luncheon and bring a friend.

The Mother's Day luncheon in May had a very nice turnout, was festive, nicely decorated, and it was very special to have our wives join us. The Fresno Fire Chief, Kerri Donis, was well received and we had very positive feedback from her presentation.
We have another wonderful speaker for the June luncheon.  Ryan Jacobsen who  is the executive director for the Fresno County Farm Bureau.  Ryan has a keen interest in agriculture, is the fourth generation of two Fresno County farm families, and is the host of the local television program Valley's Gold.
Ryan Jacobsen served two terms as associate student body president at California State University, Fresno; and has been recognized as a Dean's Medalist in the College of Agricultural Sciences, as well as the Craig School of Business Graduate Dean's Medalist.
Ryan is very excited to present to our group at the upcoming June luncheon. He will be speaking about the new Jordan Agricultural Research Center at Fresno State and other agricultural topics of current interest; so come out and listen to a very personable speaker, and bring a friend to enjoy our group
